„The Queen of Eggs-decorating”

Painted furnites can be admired by Hungarians and also foreigners at my home. They have another spirit. Visitors coming to Hungary live being guest different. Although our painted furniture is old, their fascinating beauty didn’t change during the centuries.

         At the end of the 18th century furniture with Kalocsa motives were already painted. They were prepared, sawed and carved by men, while women were painted them. More documents refer to the fact, sample wiriting, embroidery, wall painting and egg painting were developed from furniture decorating in the second half of the 20th century.
